How to Close a Jira Ticket
Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to close a Jira ticket:
- Open the ticket in Jira.
- Click on the ticket's current Status. And mark it Done.
- Change the status to Done or any other organization-specific status that indicates the work is complete.
- Alternatively, you can click and hold a ticket in board view. Drag and drop it to the Done column.
- The ticket will automatically close and receive a status indicating that work on it has been completed.
Note: You can also add a comment to the issue to explain why it was closed. You can use smart values to personalize the message, such as printing the customer's first name.
