How to Create Your First Custom GPT

It is very easy to create your first custom GPT. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it in simple steps:

1. On ChatGPT's main interface, head over to the left-side panel and then click 'Explore GPTs'.
2. Tap 'Create' at the top-right corner to get started.
3. After that, click the 'Configure' tab.
4. Set a unique display photo for your first custom GPT. To do that, simply click the 'Add' button and then upload the specific image file you prefer to use.
5. Subsequently, add a unique 'Name' and 'Description'. Enter the details into their respective input fields.
6. Come up with detailed guidelines that describe the behavior, purpose, personality, function, and capabilities of the custom GPT you want to create. Type them manually into the 'Instruction' field.
7. Add a few sample text prompts and enter them one by one into the 'Conversation Starters' input field.
8. If you want to provide extra references from external sources, simply click the 'Upload Files' button under Knowledge and then select the documents you wish to use.
9. Under the Capabilities section, tick the checkbox beside the functions you wish to allow. At the same time, you may also set up the Actions feature to integrate your Custom GPT with third-party tools.
10. Once done, head over to the Preview Area and try your custom GPT for the first time. Simply enter a text prompt into the input box and tap the 'Submit' button.
11. If you're satisfied with the result, click 'Create'.
12. Configure the Access Settings based on your preference and then tap 'Save'.
13. After completing these steps, your first custom GPT will be created and published.
