How To Connect Google Tag Manager to Google Analytics
Here's a step by step tutorial to connect Google Tag Manager to Google Analytics 4:
- Go to left pane and find Admin.
- Navigate to Property Settings>Data streams.
- Select the Data Stream you want to add.
- Copy the Measurement ID and then let's head to Google Tag Manager.
- Go to the left pane and click on Tags. Click on New to create a new Tag.
- Give it a name and select Tag configuration box on top.
- Choose Google Analytics as the Tag type and select GA4 Event.
- Paste the Measurement Id you copied from Google Analytics.
- Select Event as the variable to be added.
- Select All Pages as the Triggering event. And hit Save.
- Once you click the Preview button your website will open up and do a test if the tag is working well. Now let's head to Tag Assistant and add Website URL.
- Hit Continue and you are done!
