How to Organize Slack Channels

You can organise your channels under sections. Do note that this feature is only available on paid Slack plans. If you're unsure, check with your team admin.

1. You need to be on the Home tab to view and manage your channels.
2. Navigate to the Channels dropdown on the sidebar and select Create.
3. Select Create section in the dropdown.
4. Type a name that reflects the section category. (E.g. Resources, Social media, etc.)
5. Choose an emoji for easier identification.‍
6. Drag and drop existing channels from your sidebar into the new section.
7. Click and hold any channel name within the section.
8. You can also drag and drop channels within the section to reorder the channels to suit your preference.
