How To Set Up Events in Google Analytics
Here's a step-by-step tutorial for you to set up Events in Google Analytics:
- Click on the Admin tab at the bottom left corner of the screen.
- You will find Events under the Data Display (or in some cases under the Property column).
- Click on the Create event button to create a new event.
- Make sure to choose the relevant Data Stream and hit Create.
- Enter details such as the Custom event name and the Parameter. You can set Value as the name or the URL of the page you want to mark as the event. (e.g. Thank you page) or just the page location will do.
- Check the Copy parameters box and hit Create.
- Test your Event by performing the action leading that leads to the Event (Sign up, book a demo, download a lead magnet etc.)
- Refresh the page in case you don't see changes.
